And all of these make their way into her artistic process. With Silvia, the line dividing her life from her art is definitely blurred. Her life permeates her art and it is, in turn, permeated by it.

San Francisco Bay Area artist Lea Feinstein talks about her work and career. Her paintings are meditations on paint, flow, and the forces of gravity and time. They are inspired by regular flow patterns occurring in widely disparate phenomena, vapor trails merging and dissipating in the sky, rivers joining, blood flowing, sands shifted by tides, and rain streaming on glass.

Yoga is a way of establishing a relationship with yourself - to see who you are, what you are mad of, how you react, behave, think, feel, move and breathe - all to be able to access calm and compassionate control of the mind and body. This is a gift that I feel fortunate enough to give to myself every chance I get and what fuels my desire to want to give Yoga to others, as a teacher. Leonora teaches at Barefoot Movement in downtown Oakland.

SFMOMA Artists Gallery presents works by James TORLAKSON and William FARLEY

James TORLAKSON may be best known for his photo-based realism, though working from life is still an active part of his creative process. His imagery has centered on everyday America, shifting over the years to include trucks, railways, amusement parks, waterfronts and coastal landscapes.

In the photographs of his Fog at Night series, William FARLEY explores natural and man-made environments. He photographs urban and rural landscapes absent of their inhabitants, where the elementals seem visible and available to be recorded.

Why Mexico, a resource-rich nation, has become trapped in low growth is a story of political
paralysis where entrenched monopolies remain in control, the schools fail to educate, and the
development policies all but enslave workers in a cycle of poverty that threatens to trap future generations as well.

San Francisco resident Heather Nuanes has been a student of the Way of Tea or Chado for the past 10 years. This is her story.

Chado is based upon the simple act of boiling water, making tea, offering it to others, and drinking of it ourselves. Served with a respectful heart and received with gratitude, a bowl of tea satisfies both a physical and spiritual thirst.
